Gynecology
Our Gynecology service focuses on women's sexual and reproductive health, with a strong emphasis on education so you can make informed decisions about your body. We also focus on health promotion and preventing reproductive-system conditions. You can choose to be seen by a male or female gynecologist, whichever makes you most comfortable.
Diagnostic procedures
Colposcopy
An exam of the cervix, vagina and vulva with a colposcope; may include a biopsy for a histopathological diagnosis.
Conization
Removal of a cone-shaped piece of the cervix, for diagnosis or treatment of a potentially malignant lesion.
Cervical Cauterization
Destroys abnormal cells on the surface of the cervix using heat, electricity, cold or laser.
Surgical procedures
Pelvic Floor Reconstructive Surgery
Reconstructs and repositions pelvic structures to correct genital prolapse, urinary incontinence and pelvic pain. Includes:
- Anterior and posterior colporrhaphy
- Vaginal colpopexy, with or without sling
- Vaginal hysterectomy
- Sling cystopexy
Hysteroscopy
Direct visualization of the cervical canal and the inside of the uterus, revealing polyps, fibroids, tumors or scar tissue. We perform diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy, endometrial polyp excision and submucosal fibroid removal.
Laparoscopic Gynecological Surgery
Less invasive, with a shorter recovery, through two small abdominal incisions. Procedures performed include:
- Laparoscopic hysterectomy
- Laparoscopic adhesiolysis
- Laparoscopic salpingectomy
- Adnexal mass resection
