Diagnostic procedures
Cystoscopy
A diagnostic exam that, using local anesthesia and a camera-equipped cystoscope, examines the urethra, bladder and (in men) the prostate.
Ultrasound-guided Prostate Biopsy
Guided by transrectal ultrasound, this takes small prostate tissue samples for pathology analysis.
Uroflowmetry
A non-invasive study measuring urine flow over time: strength, pressure and continuity of urination.
Urodynamics
Two catheters measure bladder and abdominal pressure to determine the best treatment for each case.
Surgical procedures
Thulium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (ThuLEP)
Fully separates the obstructing prostate tissue from its capsule using a continuous-wave Thulium laser fiber inserted through the urethra; the tissue is then fragmented and removed with no external incision. Outpatient, with as little as one weekend of recovery, and no prostate-size limit. Learn more →
Intracorporeal Lithotripsy
An outpatient procedure that breaks up kidney, ureter or bladder stones from inside.
Endoscopic Ureterolithotomy
Removes stones located in the ureter using a rigid ureteroscope and an intracorporeal fragmentation system.
Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy
Removes large stones (over 2 cm) through a small incision in the lower back.
Laparoscopic Urological Surgery
A minimally invasive alternative to open surgery for renal cysts, ureteral strictures, ureteral reimplantation and kidney cancer.
Intravesical Botulinum Toxin
Used to treat overactive and neurogenic bladder, improving patients' quality of life.
